Shushan Dance Studio was created to give students as young as 3 years old up to adults curious, excited, wanted to further develop themselves or simply wanting to try something new the opportunity to do so.
25 years ago, Russian Vagonova trained Principal and Soloist dancers Shushanik Poghosyan and Aleksandr Khachaturov came to America after touring with the Cultural Opera and Ballet Theater of Armenia and leading in company roles such as Gayane Ballet, Carmen, Spartacus, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Giselle and more. They performed across all the grand stages of the world in Moscow, Paris, Leningrad, Spain, Lebanon, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and so on until they came to the end of their tour in California where they decided to remain and make their new home. This may have been the end of their professional dancing careers; however, since then, they have been in the practice of coaching and patiently guiding students into becoming more than they initially thought possible of themselves as dancers. The name Shushan is an Armenian name that translates to the Lily flower in English.
